1. Start with your goals
Think about the everyday support, skills, connections or home-and-living goals that are most important to you. You do not need to have every answer before speaking with a provider.
2. Understand your plan and how it is managed
Your plan explains the funding available to you. The way your plan is managed can affect the providers you can choose, so it is helpful to check this before you begin.
3. Meet providers and ask questions
You can talk with more than one provider before deciding. Ask about the support they offer, availability, fees, communication and how they will work around your preferences.
4. Take time with the service agreement
A service agreement should make it clear what support will be delivered, what it costs, how changes work and who you can contact with questions.
